Subtotals on Form

By - Updated July 19, 2018

Do you want to create custom sub-totals on a form that can have dynamically changing number of rows? If so, try out this technique. Insert a static row on the form near the top of the form by right clicking on a row header. Choose an option Insert Before or Insert After to create your new static row. You can tell which rows and columns are static by noticing the “‘” indicator preceding the header label.

Now, in the newly created row you can enter in a spreadsheet formula like such, =sum(G:G). This formula essentially directs the spreadsheet to sum the values in the column range to the current cell.

Give the row some formatting and now you have custom sub-totals on the form!
